English can be difficult to understand at times, that's for sure! As an example, in today's blog, we will look at some different ways the word "head" is used.
Head - Part of the body. ("My head hurts.")
Head - The main person. ("Joe is the head of our research department.")
To head - To go, or start going. ("We're going to head over to Lily's party.")
More examples:
"She's got a good head on her shoulders." - She's smart/intelligent.
"I need that like I need another hole in my head!" - I don't need that. Extra holes in my head are unnecessary, and so is that.
"There's no need to bite my head off!" - Hey! Don't attack me or get so angry with me!
